The job of the First Mate can be quite trying. Folks are always talking about the Captains. How they’ve got to know all the routes through the Seven Seas and the importance of remembering where this treasure map goes compared to where that secret hideout map leads. (Then there are all of the mutinies.) Look, we’re not saying that the Captains don’t have a ton of stuff going on under their hats. What we’re saying is that the First Mate is dealing with more!

Let’s be honest. When the Captain wants to go somewhere, who does the steering? Who consults the maps? Who even ends up giving all the orders? Not the Captain! The Captain just tells the First Mate to make it happen and throws all of that work on their shoulders. (And all of that work is still nothing compared to all of the emotional counsel that the First Mate has to supply.) Frankly, without the First Mate taking care of the ship, the whole thing would sink in a second!

Design & Details

It includes a white and blue striped shirt with a jagged hemline and a pair of dark blue knee-length pants that are perfect for your sailor shanties. Until the Captain is offed by an angry crocodile or dives into the deep to visit Davy Jones, you may not have the hat you deserve… but you’ll have this brilliant red headscarf that’ll attract even more attention!
